IT’S NICE TO MEET YOU!
I’m Laurie Burke…
I’m a San Francisco native who comes from a family of professional actors and musicians—think The Partridge Family meets This Is Spinal Tap. As an enormous fan of all things creative, I decided to turn my passion into a full-time career. For more than 20 years, I have worked professionally as an actor, voice actor, host, and singer.
Driven by an unquenchable desire to learn and continually develop my craft, I have sought out a wide range of training, teachers, and artistic perspectives in London, Paris, Berlin, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, including study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the American Conservatory Theater.
My television credits include playing attorney Alice Kaye opposite Hugh Laurie in Chance, starring roles in Wives with Knives and I (Almost) Got Away with It, and numerous commercials for major companies, including BlackBerry, Volkswagen, Raley’s, Walmart, MetroPCS, Nokia, and Wells Fargo. I also played Sheriff Laura Stevens in the Rosario Dawson-produced web series The North Pole.
My film credits include Mr. Invincible, The Mendoza Line, and Redwoods, as well as numerous award-winning short films. I voiced the leading role for Amazon AWS/Fuzzy Pixels's Animating Rose and played her again in Flicker. I also voiced Hisayo in Roadside Assistance and worked opposite Adam Devine in the feature film Jexi, providing the on-set, behind-the-scenes voice of Jexi (so much fun).
Known as the Original Voice of Google, I have enjoyed a long and varied voiceover career, lending my voice to projects ranging from The Emmy Awards to campaigns and commercials for Raley’s/Nob Hill, LinkedIn, Channel 36 Los Angeles, Kaiser Permanente, 24 Hour Fitness, Symantec, First Republic Bank, Cisco, and Wells Fargo.
My theater credits include playing Amy in Stephen Sondheim’s musical Company and Gal in the touring production of Just for Laughs. I also starred as Claudia Roe in the consistently sold-out production of Lucy Prebble’s Enron.
As a host, I represented Common Sense Media as a television and web host for eight years—a company I was very proud to represent. I also became one of their go-to performers for voiceover projects and awards shows.
As a professional singer, I have fronted bands across a variety of musical genres and performed in musicals, films, jingles, and voiceover projects.
I am deeply grateful for every creative opportunity I have received. Sharing my passion, connecting with audiences, and helping others bring their own creativity to life are central to my purpose.
